View / Modify marked location

February 28th, 2009 No comments

We have come across some cases where the marked location of a user is inaccurate, and sometimes totally off the mark. This happens if while registering, you place a marker without adequately zooming in, which may set it off by quite a few kilometres.

So here’s a new feature called Modify your Location, which lets you view your marked location and also change it on the map. Just enter your email address to receive a verification code. You can also click on the automated link, which takes you directly to the map.

If you have registered on the site, please check to see that your location is correct, otherwise it may lead to inaccurate information being provided to you. To achieve the best result, we recommend that you zoom in to the maximum possible extent while placing your marker.

VoteIndia major strides…

February 23rd, 2009 1 comment

Hi people,

The VoteIndia team has taken some major strides in terms of reaching out to people. To inspire them about our ideology and the quest for good governance.

We have put up our videos (English and Hindi versions) on Youtube and we have had more than 350 views so far.  We have sent our emailers to all our registered users and we know they will forward the same to their friends. The more people get involved the better it is for each one of us.

We have worked out a new and user friendly design for the website. The new look should be up soon.

We have had 100 new registrations in the last month and its damn encouraging as a volunteer. We are aiming for 1 lac before the elections and in a country of 1.5 billion plus that’s a very very small number. If each one of us can reach out to 4 others and inspire them to register we can achieve a lot more easily.

Come join in the fun. Call us up and get working, get knocking on heads…

Until next time…this is Shridhar signing off…keep the faith in your chosen way… this meaningful revolution is growing each day.

We have a new video yooohoooo!

February 18th, 2009 1 comment

Am sure you are walking upto total strangers in college or office or the street to tell them all about this revolution we are out to bring about. Giving them gyaan about candidate information and why they should know their candidates…etc etc, right? It feels good, doesn’t it, to be doing something and not just sitting and complaining? It’s a wonderful feeling. And we are all proud to be doing our bit for this beautiful bountiful country of ours. So we thought why not go ahead make a small film to ease your life a bit. A film that conveys the message of VoteIndia in 60 seconds flat!!

A film you can simply forward to your friends, ask them to watch it on Youtube (send them this link – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2LKRCA8Jb4 for English and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TETY_OAYsXU for Hindi version) They can watch amd ask their friends to watch and so on. So here they are the films for you, for this country, for good governance. Let’s make this meaningful revolution happen.

TORCH

For a penny less
My heart I have sold
I burn my friend
and call myself bold
I say I have faith
but still I do not believe
Bcoz all around I find
God has become blind
Yet I walked with a torch
as my eyes begged,
a bit of happiness to see.
My torch was extinguished
peace wasn’t meant to be
And all this time I wondered,
In the light…
How much i craved to be,

Now,

For an hour in the dark,

I wish, would be forever for me.

Religion is a way of LIFE, not of DEATH.

We are literate, its time we learnt.

WEDNESDAY FOREVER!

February 6th, 2009 No comments

“See you in an hour”
She said smiling.
Anticipation her
new love gifted.
“Will you marry me?”
He said. Sipping
wine she was
from her glass
“Let’s not let
this moment pass”

And it did not.
The hour never ended.
It was a Wednesday.
